I will be the first one in my family to attend college right after high school. College has always been something that my parents pushed me towards and now it is almost here. It's hard finding help when you are the first one and its hard to understand the steps and processes of successfully acquiring the college experience when there are no footsteps to follow. It took 2 years for him to finally get social security and what they are paying him is not enough for him to help my mom with bills, support us for a month, and now on top of that he has to help me pay for college. Now any money we can manage to save is going towards application fees, the fees for sending transcripts, sat scores, act scores and ap scores. I'm a rising senior and this year I'm taking on 4 ap classes, and trying to keep up my gpa above my current 3.3 (4.5 weighted). Scholarships are the only way I'm going to get enough money to be anywhere close to how much it's going to cost. Going to college has always been something that parents pushed me towards and now I'm almost there. My grades slipped this last year but i'm 100% positive i'll graduate with at least a 3.0-3.5. There is one problem. My mom is also trying to go back to college and my parents won't have enough to pay my tuition. I've been looking everywhere for scholarships and its been a challenge; I've been super stressed. This book would make my college journey so much easier.
